Who is Joelle Fleurantin?

An artist and researcher whose work explores how we perceive technology. I am a seasoned user experience practioner, having worked 10 years at organizations with high-touch and community-based customer experience models.

Who is Samella Lewis?

Samella Lewis (1923 – 2022) was an artist and art historian that dedicated her professional life to realizing the ideas of the Black Arts Movement. Her multimedia approach is astonishing in its breadth and longevity. She worked as educator, editor and author, publisher, art dealer, museum director, filmmaker and distributor. A very short list of her projects:

  • founding the publishing company Contemporary Crafts (1969)
  • co-editing and publishing the volume, Black Artists on Art (1969, 1971)
  • launching the magazine International Review of African-American Art (1975)
